Sorry to wake up the members of the froup - what do you think of the demo?
<http://www.feral.co.uk/downloads/enemyengaged/EEDemo.dmg.sit>
I don't own a Mac capable of running this game but I had really enjoyed
this sim on PC - so I thought you might want to have a look... Hey,
that's the first copter sim on the Mac! >> Stay informed about: Enemy Engaged Demo |

Actually, I know of at least two copter sims for the Mac that came out years
ago, and that in addition to X-Plane, which I believe also has copter
capability.

Well, apart from Apache and Hind from Digital Integrations.
But yes, this looks pretty good. Can't wait to have a go with it!

Well, my history of the flight sims on the Mac is the following (1993
and onwards):
-> Hellcats & Leyte Gulf -> MS Flight Sim 4
|
|
-> A-10 Attack -> Hornet 2 & Korea Add-on
| |
| |
-> A-10 Cuba |
|
-> Hornet 3
|
-> Korea (3dfx)
-> Falcon 4.0 (the one that made me -> Fly!
go on the evil side)
Add somewhere X-Plane, Warbirds and its WW1 sequel and that's about it
for me. I hope I haven't missed too many good sims!

Nope, I think you got pretty much all the ones worth mentioning (other
than Hornet 1 and the two helo sims I mentioned in my other post!).
It's a depressingly short list, innit?

Yes but having said that, the only flight sims worth mentioning from my
PC experience (since 2000) are:
- Falcon 4 (still enjoyable 5 years after the original release thanks to
all unofficial patches)
- IL-2 and its add-ons
- Lock-On
- FS Flight Sims (2k2 and 2k4)
- Enemy Engaged
Some other sims were quite good but I did not enjoy them as much:
- Mig Alley
- BoB
- Strike Fighters
I haven't tried Janes F/A 18 and EAW. SDoE was just a joke - was it
released on the Mac?

I seem to recall that it was. Don't remember much about it though.
I'm reminded of another game that I really liked, but no-one else did.
You flew AV8B Harriers off a US Marine Corps assault carrier (the
Tarawa, IIRC) in some contentious bit of Indonesia. There was a bit of
strategic planning involved as well, and I spent many an hour playing
it.
Can't remember the name, so it can't have been *that* good!

I got it yesterday. Runs nicely on a DP866 with a Radeon 9000, not hugely
impressed yet, seems suitably complicated though :-)
